  • Effectively direct twice-weekly after school rehearsals in cooperation with assistant directors

  • Organize trips within the community to perform for retirement communities and elementary audiences

  • Organize yearly competition trips – past destinations have included Hershey, PA, New York, NY, and Orlando, FL

  • Organize community outreach and fund-raising activities for trips including an annual “Broadway Dinner” event

  • Work with colleagues to select a production appropriate for the student talent and community expectations

  • Obtain performance licenses from publishing companies and specialty props from production companies – including pyrotechnics, specialty backgrounds, and flying equipment

  • Enlist the assistance of community talent for costumes, set construction, and orchestral augmentation

  • Audition students and community members for on-stage talent

  • Create rehearsal schedule; act as rehearsal pianist for vocal instruction

  • Coordinate publicity, program, and ticket creation

  • Work with colleagues on light and sound design

  • Assist with choreography and blocking

  • Act as stage manager during performances

  • Coordinate an efficient set strike and stage cleanup at the end of the final show

  • Past productions include Bye Bye Birdie, The Music Man, Into the Woods, Footloose, Peter Pan, and The Wizard of Oz.

  • Teach private lessons to students aged middle school through adult.

  • 2019 Propel Promising Principle Award

  • Show choir competition awards include 1st place in class wins and “Superior” rated performances, multiple Esprit de Corps wins, and a “Best Overall Choir” at a Music in the Parks festival held at Six Flags Great Adventure in May 2007

  • Increased concert choir participation more than twofold from 2003 to 2008

  • Continually increased musical attendance each year until 2006 when all three performances of Footloose sold out to the public
